Boxer Temperament……

Temperament is of the utmost importance and when breeding requires careful attention.

The Boxer should be fearless self confident, calm and equable. He is devoted and loyal towards his master and his entire household, his watchfulness and self-assured courage as a defender are famous. He is harmless with his family, patient and stoical with children but distrustful of strangers although he will exhibit curiosity. He is happy and friendly in play, yet fearless and brave in a serious situation. He responds promptly to friendly overtures. Undemanding and clean, he is just as agreeable and appreciated in the family circle as he is as a guard, companion and working dog. He is easy to train on account of his willingness to obey.

His character is trustworthy, with no guile or cunning, even in old age. He is the soul of honesty and loyalty-this is what makes him a highly desirable companion.

Characteristics we should not see in Boxers are viciousness, aggression, treachery, unreliability, cowardice, lack of spirit and shyness.
